Lhasa Gonggar Airport is located in Gonggar county of Shannan prefecture, south bank of Yarlung Zangbo River. The airport is 3,600 meters above sea level. Airport rank is 4E. It is one of the highest civilian airports in the world. The airport was built in 1965. It is about 65km southwest of Lhasa city, and driving from Gonggar Airport to Lhasa City takes about 1 hour.

It is located in a narrow valley between Bangda grassland and west bank of Yuqu River of Qamdo perfecture, and as the farthest airport from city center, Qamdo Bangda Airport is the airport that has the severest climate in the world. Besides, it has the world longest runway for public use airport. Most often, the temperature in the airport in winter can reach -20C.

Ngari airport is located in south west of Shiquanhe town, Ngari prefecture Tibet. The total airport covers over 3,613 acres area while the terminal has about 3,900 square meter area. It was put into use in July 1 2010. Ngari is the furthest region from Lhasa among the seven prefectures, and the complete of Ngari airport well connected Nagri with Lhasa and other Tibet cities. Now you can reach Lhasa city from Nagri airport in 2 hours.

Located in Jiangdang town area, Shigatse Airport is 43 km from city center. The new airport was first put into use in October 31 2010, and it is the 5th airport for public use in Tibet area. As the second largest city of Tibet, Shigatse has many famous sights, such as the Mt Everest and Tashilhunpo monastery etc. The completion of Shigatse Airport plays very important role for local economical and tourism development.
